As a staff detective of the Royal Hong Kong Police Force, he does not get a medal in his busting of a drug ring. Instead, he is reprimanded by his superiors for his rash, unorthodox, although heroic methods in the capture of the drug lord, Chu Tao. This generates a revenge face-off which causes Jackie to be scolded by his boss again. Just when Jackie is ready to quit the force for good, he is accidentally entangled in a blackmail operation.
